Welcome to the Tattoo Budcast, the hilarious podcast where tattoo artists and buds Sanae Garcia and Jimmy Jam blend their love for tattoos with their knack for storytelling. Broadcasting from their cozy tattoo shop, they bring you a unique and hearty dose of humor and unfiltered shop banter. Think of it as eavesdropping on a tattoo session, but with fewer needles and more laughs. Each week, Jimmy Jam and Sanae tackle everything from the wildest tattoo requests they’ve ever gotten, to bizarre client stories, to deep dives into the culture of tattoos. Whether they’re discussing what happens when someone asks for a tiny dragon on their wrist (and it turns out to be the size of a toddler), or recalling the most cringe-worthy tattoo trends they’ve seen, it’s a perfect blend of humor, and real-life tattoo shop antics. The Tattoo Budcast will also be featuring guest tattoo artists and the most interesting tattoo clients, listeners will feel like they’re right there in the shop. It’s a mix of sharp wit, irreverence, and surprisingly insightful takes on tattooing and life in general. Get ready for confessions, advice, funny shop mishaps, and stories that will make you laugh out loud (while maybe questioning your next tattoo choice). Catch your buds at your weekly session, on the Tattoo Budcast.

We’ve got a returning Bud 🎙️
Thea is back for her annual check-in, and this time she’s not just talking about growth… she’s living it.
She’s been hitting her targets, literally and figuratively… Bang bang if you know what we mean.
We get into everything she’s been through this past year, from being completely crippled by anxiety to stepping into a space where she’s now helping others make the changes they’re too scared to make. Light stuff.
We talk about how to get over embarrassing moments, and why they’re really only embarrassing if you decide they are. Yeah… sit with that one for a second.
Just like last time, she’s dropping one-liners that will make you laugh, make you think, and maybe even call you out a little.
Grab your notepad, pretend you’re gonna take notes, and tune in to grow with us.

We’ve got a brand new episode for you, and this time Johnny Bones and Goonies Ulloa from Dreamland Art Co are sitting in with Sanae . They’re filling in on the mic for Jimmy Jam🎙️
The Buds sit down and reminisce about Friday the 13th tattoo days, and if you think they’re brutal now… imagine doing 50 tattoos in one day for $13 each. Absolute chaos.
Also, it’s impossible to ignore that Bones has two 32oz drinks strapped to his hands the entire time. Is this a lifestyle? A cry for help? This leads us into drinking games, bad decisions, and the very real fear of next-day hangxiety.
We also get into the Super Bowl halftime show (Team Bad Bunny, obviously), and then spiral into an important survival question… could any of us make it in the wild? Goonies and Sanae are ready to tap out immediately, but Bones is fully convinced he’s built for the wilderness.
From there, we unlock a new nightmare hobby: searching “tattoo gun” on Amazon and reading the reviews. The results? Horrifying tattoos, questionable machines… and yes, someone mentions flesh-eating bacteria.
To close it out, we read two listener letters:
One asks if it’s okay to change a flash design right before an appointment, and another confesses to some sweet, sweet workplace revenge.
If you like tattoo life, shop stories, chaotic conversations, and questionable decisions, this episode is for you.
Tune in and laugh with us. Like we say… it’s just like a tattoo appointment, minus the tattoo.

The Olympics are coming to Los Angeles in two years, and the Buds are already mentally preparing for the traffic. But instead of complaining (for once), it sparks a brilliant idea…
Tattoo Olympics.
We’re talking speed setups, fastest breakdowns, flash painting, endurance rounds… who’s taking gold in the tattoo world?
The Buds also start cooking up plans for a Tattoo Buds Art Show + Karaoke Night, because nothing says community like art and public embarrassment.
Jimmy Jam discovers “bite-size painting” as a way to survive making flash (because full sheets are emotionally taxing), while Sanae shares her latest encounter with a Karen in the wild… and yes, she leaned all the way into the conflict.
From there, things go completely off the rails. We get into roller coasters, the rumored closing of Six Flags, and James introduces a new method to “raise your frequency” or, for the rest of us, just declutter your brain.
Jimmy Jam also announces he released a book. A picture book. Because growth has limits.
Then we introduce our newest obsession: Punch the Monkey. The new Moo Deng? NEW-DENG?? We’re invested.
We also learn how tattoos create real physical and psychological responses (yes, this episode is somehow educational), and close it out with a Tattoo Cover Up story involving some very sweet, very messy revenge on a listener’s dad’s mistress.
Grab a seat, grab your emotional support monkey, and enjoy another chaotic episode of the Tattoo Budcast.

He claims to be just a little Ozzy… but we all know the truth.
If you’ve made it through the last 10 years without seeing an Ozzy panther or chrome tattoo, then you’ve probably been living under a rock.
Ozzy is a Venice Beach traditional tattoo legend, and he just opened a brand new shop in sunny downtown Riverside. We sit down and talk about how his punk rock mom bought him his first tattoo machine as a teenager and he’s been tattooing ever since.
We get into the love/hate relationship with tattoo conventions. They’re always a gamble… but they’re also always a good hang.
Ozzy also takes the phrase “bold will hold” to a terrifying new level when he tells the story of the time he tattooed with a 100 round liner.
From there we spiral into tattoo internet culture, including the artist blowing up for tattooing with their non-dominant hand, and why people absolutely love a good tattoo gimmick.
We also talk about tattoo artist The Raw Wendy, who was featured on My Strange Addiction for eating raw meat. Somehow this doesn’t phase Ozzy at all, because he’s currently deep into fitness, macros, and meal prep… something the Buds absolutely cannot relate to.
And because he’s a true artist, Ozzy closes out the episode with not one, not two, but THREE Tattoo Cover Up stories.
So grab your meal prep, sit down, and hang with this Los Angeles tattoo legend.

The Buds are back from two separate trips and apparently decided growth is overrated.
Instead of easing back in, we jump straight into a question absolutely nobody asked for:
Is kink shaming wrong?
And if no one shames it… is it even still a kink?
Yes. We spiraled immediately.
Jimmy Jam just got back from a quick run with his band feeling cool and mysterious. Meanwhile, Sanae survived the Philadelphia Tattoo Festival during the worst East Coast snowstorm since 1996. Flights delayed. Snow everywhere. Character development forced.
She barely made it home. And as promised, she tells a story that officially evens the scoreboard between her and James.
Yes. She crapped her pants.
No. There is no dignity left in this episode.
So strap on your emotional diaper, grab your snow coat, and press play.

Passion Over Wealth: Firefighter to Tattoo Shop Owner | TATTOO BUDCAST Ep. 69
Tuesday Feb 24, 2026
Tuesday Feb 24, 2026
The Buds are back with a brand new episode, and this time we’re sitting down with Nestor Zelaya.
James first met Nestor when he was still a fireman. You know, back when he had a “real job,” a steady paycheck, benefits… and allegedly more happiness. Now he’s a tattooer. So clearly something went wrong.
Nestor walks us through what made him leave the stability of a traditional career to chase the chaos of tattooing. From immigrating to the U.S. as a kid and chasing the “American Dream,” to realizing maybe that dream wasn’t actually his, and deciding to build something of his own. He talks about learning to tattoo, opening his own shop, and redefining success on his terms.
Naturally, we then take a completely normal turn into discussing the wildest way to get out of mandatory military service in a certain country. Because that’s how this show works.
Nestor opens up about his humble beginnings, the life reminders that keep him grounded, and then closes it out with a Tattoo Cover Up story that will leave your jaw on the floor and almost left him… testicle-less.
Yes. You read that correctly.
So sit down, press play, and enjoy another episode of the Tattoo Budcast where stability is optional and the stories are unhinged.

Get Jiggy: Tattoo Shop Valentine Chaos Ft. Jared & Iggy
Tuesday Feb 17, 2026
Tuesday Feb 17, 2026
We’re sitting down with star-crossed lovers and certified Best Bud royalty, Iggy and Jared Starbard aka Jiggy from Bone Deep Tattoo. We reminisce about the “good old days” when tattoo shops were basically adult daycare centers and ask the hard question: why does nobody hang out in shops anymore? Who hurt us?
We pitch our ideal Best Bud dates, then immediately rip off The Newlywed Game with our totally original, definitely legal game called Better Buds. Is it competitive? Yes. Does it expose friendships? Also yes.
From there we spiral into early viral internet videos and remember just how lawless the early internet used to be. No rules. No HR. Just vibes and permanent consequences.
We try to land the plane with something wholesome: “What’s one thing you wish the world knew about your Bud?” It gets sweet. It gets emotional. It almost feels safe.
Then Iggy closes the episode with a Tattoo Cover Up story about a reality TV star who walked into their shop and somehow left without her panties. Literally.
So grab your Best Bud, hold them close, and enjoy this very romantic, slightly unhinged episode of the Tattoo Budcast.

Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
Today on the Tattoo Budcast, we sit down with a very special guest whose content has taken the tattoo world by storm: Beaverduck.
We talk about how he became one of the funniest tattoo content creators out there, the unexpected path that led him to where he is now, and what it’s really like turning tattoo life into viral comedy. The laughs are nonstop, but things take a turn in the Tattoo Cover Up segment, where Beaverduck shares the wild, life-changing events that shaped his career and pushed him forward. Trust us, you will never guess what it was.
So grab a seat with the Tattoo Dean himself, because tattoo school is officially in session.
