Welcome to the Tattoo Budcast, the hilarious podcast where tattoo artists and buds Sanae Garcia and Jimmy Jam blend their love for tattoos with their knack for storytelling. Broadcasting from their cozy tattoo shop, they bring you a unique and hearty dose of humor and unfiltered shop banter. Think of it as eavesdropping on a tattoo session, but with fewer needles and more laughs. Each week, Jimmy Jam and Sanae tackle everything from the wildest tattoo requests they’ve ever gotten, to bizarre client stories, to deep dives into the culture of tattoos. Whether they’re discussing what happens when someone asks for a tiny dragon on their wrist (and it turns out to be the size of a toddler), or recalling the most cringe-worthy tattoo trends they’ve seen, it’s a perfect blend of humor, and real-life tattoo shop antics. The Tattoo Budcast will also be featuring guest tattoo artists and the most interesting tattoo clients, listeners will feel like they’re right there in the shop. It’s a mix of sharp wit, irreverence, and surprisingly insightful takes on tattooing and life in general. Get ready for confessions, advice, funny shop mishaps, and stories that will make you laugh out loud (while maybe questioning your next tattoo choice). Catch your buds at your weekly session, on the Tattoo Budcast.

RoadBuds Reloaded – Jared Starbard, Samazon & Dalton Elliott
This week, the Tattoo Buds are still kicking it mountainside in beautiful Prescott, Arizona for the Northern Arizona Tattoo Fest—because why leave a good time? In this fresh RoadBuds episode, we wrangle three tattoo artists straight from the convention floor and jump right into the chaos.
First up is Jared Starbard, a long-time tattooer out of Camarillo, California, who delivers a Tattoo Cover-Up story so savage.. we’ll just say it wasn’t a victimless crime. Then we’ve got Samazon, a Denver-based veteran who may or may not be nursing a hangover—but hey, she shows up with raw talent and spicy takes either way. And finally, meet Dalton Elliott, the true definition of a wandering artist. Prescott is just another pit stop on his never-ending tattoo tour—he might be tattooing at your local tat-shack by next week.
Buckle up for some real convention-style laughs, shop talk, and a little trash talk. It's raw, it’s rowdy, it’s RoadBuds.

The Tattoo Buds are back on the road and barely holding it together—literally. After losing just one hubcap (RIP), we rolled into the Northern Arizona Tattoo Fest with our eyes peeled for tattoo greatness—and maybe a funnel cake. First up in the hot seat: Washington’s own KC Lange! KC is a seasoned tattooer, former graphic designer, and motorcycle maniac who rode all the way from the Pacific Northwest to Prescott like a real-life Mad Max with a sketchbook. We talk road trips, career pivots, weird convention moments, and his alleged beef with old ladies (don’t cancel him, it’s a joke… maybe). Tune in and ride along!

Today we’re joined by a fellow podcasting powerhouse and longtime tattooer, Chelsey Wagner Hamilton—cohost of The Blastover! Chelsey’s been in the game for nearly 20 years, and somehow also manages to do the work of 12 people in one day. We’re not saying we’re jealous… but we’re definitely plotting.
We get into Chelsey’s tattoo journey, the mystery of her missing 20k followers, and what it’s like juggling podcasting, self-producing merch, painting, and tattooing without fully combusting. This one’s got laughs, gossip, and Bud-on-Bud podcast synergy.
Tune in, laugh with us, and then go binge The Blastover! We love a crossover episode.

Rando Baggins: Tattooing, Sobriety & emotional chaos (Ep. 36)
Tuesday Jul 08, 2025
Tuesday Jul 08, 2025
We’ve got a fresh Budcast for ya, and this one’s coming in hot. The Buds are joined by tattooer and master painter Rando Baggins, and after a slight pre-show hiccup (let’s just say someone almost didn’t make it), we kick things off with arguably our most unhinged ice breaker yet.
Then it’s time to dig into the saga of Rando... From getting arrested for graffiti to becoming a full-blown tattoo wizard. We also get into sobriety... Rando and Jimmy Jam both share their experiences, and we ask: Why are so many tattooers sober now? Is excessive partying just part of the artist curse, or have we all just finally had enough of our own B.S.?
And finally, we close it out with a deep dive into ego deaths, adult crying sessions, and a Tattoo Cover-Up story that is basically every tattooer’s worst-case scenario.

Today the buds are joined by a very special guest, legendary Los Angeles tattooer Johnny Bones—this man is a master of black and gray, jack-of-all-styles, and has never kicked a fast food mascot out of bed. With 26 years of tattooing under his belt and a major role in shaping Sanae’s own tattoo journey, Bones brings the wisdom and the jokes.
We talk about his 2.5 decades-long career, what keeps him inspired. Ever wonder what tattoo artists really hate? We're talking shop pet peeves, unspoken rules, and yes—someone definitely gets roasted.
And don't miss our fan-favorite Tattoo Cover-Up segment, where Johnny Bones shares a mortifying tale of his own that will make you feel way better about your worst moments.
Warning: This episode contains inappropriate laughter, actual tattoo insight, and possible defamation of several fast-food mascots.

Disneyland "Trip", Tattoo Myths Busted & Getting Banned from a Del Taco
Tuesday Jun 17, 2025
Tuesday Jun 17, 2025
Welcome back, Buds! It’s a solo sesh today, and the gang’s fresh off a Disneyland staycation where the real magic might’ve happened in the hotel room (wink wink—definitely not sponsored by mushrooms).
We’re catching up on life, breaking down our weirdest reoccurring and lucid dreams, and diving deep into Tattoo Myths You Probably Still Believe. Think tattoo white ink hurts more? Think again.
Plus, for the first time in ages, Jimmy Jam brings the heat with a brand-new “Tattoo Cover-Up” story—a chaotic confession that may or may not involve being banned from a fast food parking lot forever. Possibly…
Cringe, laugh, and learn a thing or two about tattoos (and regret) in this no-filter episode of the Tattoo Budcast—where the tattoos are imaginary, but the trauma is very real.

Barter Tattoos, Bidets, Bubonic Plague & Self-Acceptance Ft. Rob Graye (Ep. 32)
Tuesday Jun 10, 2025
Tuesday Jun 10, 2025
This week on the Tattoo Budcast, the Buds are flushing out the facts—literally—with tattooer, shop owner, and longtime friend Robert Graye! Rob’s a master of neo-traditional tattoos, but don’t put him in a stylistic box—he’ll bust right out of it (with perfect line weight).
We cover everything from bidets and bubonic plague to urethral E. coli (yes, you read that right). Then we get serious-ish and talk about how Rob got into tattooing, the emotional sting of constructive criticism, and the financial rollercoaster that is full-time tattooing.
Oh, and did you know some of your favorite artists have traded tattoos for things like plumbing work or tacos? We’re diving into the secret bartering economy of tattooing, and asking the big questions:
Where are we currently clocking in on the scale of self-acceptance? Are tattoos acts of self-love or just new things to pick apart in the mirror?
It’s equal parts heart, humor, and hygiene in this week’s episode—watch, laugh, and maybe even cringe with us.
